Carefree Kids - Iberian Peninsula, October '23
Besides photography, international travel is a passion of mine. During a recent trip to the Iberian Peninsula, I had an epiphany: I used to believe that I needed to take pictures of all the landmarks, with nothing else in the frame. God forbid should there be a person in the photograph!
Now I realize by thinking this way that the pictures I took could have been taken by anyone else, at any other time. What if I instead focus on what makes any given moment unique to my personal experience?
I was particularly drawn to the children that were playing outside of the historical buildings, gardens, museums, and churches. I attempted to capture the carefree moments of my subjects as they kept themselves entertained, all the while wishing that I could join them.
