History Park @ Kelley Park

History Park @ Kelley Park - October '23

One early October morning, I decided to visit Kelley Park in San Jose. I ended up exploring the History Park section. For those of you unfamiliar with History Park, it is described on its website as:

“Through 32 original and reproduction homes, businesses, and landmarks, History Park reveals Santa Clara Valley’s past. Complete with paved streets, running trolleys, and an old-fashioned ice cream shop, this 14-acre site offers the charm and ambiance of times gone by.”

As it was morning, the trolleys weren’t running yet. In fact, there were several people working on the grounds to set up the Halloween and Christmas displays. I made sure to capture a few of the special Halloween decorations, and intend to go back to the park before they take down the Christmas decorations to capture those as well.

I purposely left this series of photographs in color. I was especially taken by the primary colors in the photograph featuring Rosie the Riveter, and the complementary colors of the photograph of the red door and the yellow flowers in the foreground.
